Fiji Airways Premier Lounge Nadi Food and Nutrition Review (Updated October 2025)

Updated October 2025

After first reviewing this lounge for breakfast in 2022, I had the opportunity to review the lounge again in May 2025 and October 2025 (read review of Melbourne to Nadi flights in 2025) for breakfast which gave me a great opportunity to see whether much had changed. When I first visited in 2022 the industry as a whole was still coming back from Covid and so I thought there may have been some changes made since. However I was quite surprised to see that the food that was on offer was pretty much exactly the same. I actually couldn’t believe how similar it was! I visited the lounge during the breakfast period where there was a buffet serving typical western hot and cold dishes. While the selection of dishes wasn’t extensive, the ones available were fairly good quality and tasted nice.

What’s Healthy

  • There was a nice fruit and vegetable selection available to eat or to juice. It was good there were vegetables (carrots, celery and cucumber) along with fruits (watermelon, pineapple and apples) on offer because while both are full of vitamins and phytonutrients, vegetables don’t contain much carbohydrate (sugars). And while the sugars found in fruits are okay to include in a healthy diet, it is important to eat more vegetables throughout the day than sugars (e.g. in Australia it is recommended to have 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit). So having these vegetables available here can help boost vegetables in your day and the best thing is carrots, cucumber or celery sticks are pretty easy to add to any meal on the side, even just to have as a snack.

  • I love that chia pots were on offer as chia seeds are a source of soluble fibre and omega 3 – both of which are important for health but can be a bit tricky for some people to get in the diet. What I also liked is that there was only a small amount of passion fruit for flavour. Sometimes too much fruit is included which can have a lot of added sugar. So just a touch here is great. The yogurt did have a lot more fruit added to it, so if I was to choose the yogurt to eat then I would have only eat half the fruit.

  • Scrambled eggs were available and they tasted great! The eggs had a lovely flavour to them from where they have been cooked in the pan and they had a lovely texture. They reminded me of homemade scrambled eggs cooked on the stove in a pan. They also did not taste (or seem) too oily, buttery/creamy. They had a lot of liquid in them in October 2025 though (even though they still tasted great) – the liquid nearly turned me off trying them.

Not so great (caution).

  • Plates with waffles, berry sauce and cream were made up and available on the buffet. The dollop of cream was fairly large and so will add a fair amount of energy to the dish without providing any beneficial nutrients. So view this dish as more of a dessert rather than a breakfast dish.

  • Speaking of desserts, there were also muffins and scones available during breakfast time. These have the potential to be high in sugar while not providing many beneficial nutrients and so are best not eaten for breakfast. There were also pastries available which are generally high in kilojoules (calories) and fat, with sweet version also potentially high in sugar.

  • While there were different varieties of bread available, they were all quite refined, light and fluffy. I tried a small slice of the multigrain bread but there were not many grains in it and so it looked like it would not have contained much fibre.

  • Hashbrowns while delicious (I do love a hashbrown) they can be a source of salt and fat and energy (depending on how they are cooked – fried vs overbaked). They can also be easy to overeat and so be mindful before a flight how many you have. While fried rice can have some vegetables in it, usually these are minimal and more like garnishes which is what we see with this fried rice.

  • The selection of hot foods on the buffet fits a little in both the ‘healthy’ and ‘caution’ categories. For example baked beans are pretty good breakfast choices but they are in the image here as they are next to the sausages which are a processed meat and should be limited in the diet. Bacon is also a processed meat and should be limited. If you like bacon and sausages – choose only 1 when flying. In 2025 spinach and tomatoes were not available and they were in 2022. This is disappointing as spinach and tomato are quite nutritious. The spinach in 2022 was creamed and so an additional source of fat and energy, but still spinach would have contained a great nutrient package.

Last word from travel food and nutrition review for Fiji Airways Premier Lounge

Overall, the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge is not a bad lounge. I look forward to visiting the lounge again and outside of breakfast hours to see what types of foods are on offer. It will be good to see what types of Fijian influences are on the foods outside of breakfast time. The plane I was on from Sydney to Nadi then flies on to Los Angeles so it might be a way for me to fly to the US. That way I could check out more foods within the lounge and on board.

I also loved the Fijian Bean Cart that was in the lounge too.

Overall a good lounge experience on each visit however I was disappointed the food experience was nearly identical 3 years apart. The hot and cold buffets were ok – but the offering was modest. There were some nutritious elements and I could make a balanced breakfast.

NOTE: All pictures of Fiji Airways Premier Lounge are my own and I review a lounge from just the foods and menu I see during my visit. There may be different options available at other times.
