I've put the PhD study aside for a little while this afternoon to try something new - I'm exploring expanding my travel nutrition social media content to include videos on tik tok/reels etc.
I've decided as soon as these borders come down and I'm out of lockdown, I'm going to be ready to talk everything about food, nutrition and travel. And I've decided that will include me + more videos 😄🎥🎬
So you might see my trying some new things out over the coming weeks and months.
I'd love to hear what you would like to see re travel and food - reach out any time to let me know!
For now happy Friday everyone and for my fellow Melbournian's - I hope you get out for a picnic. I certainly will be with 🥖🧀🍅🥑
Reindeer and mushroom bake anyone? This was a Wild Game (deer, elk and reindeer) and Mushroom Casserole I had once in the @feelfinnair Schnegen Lounge at Helsinki Airport back in 2019 (haha can you feel the 2019 travel vibes im channelling atm)!
Aim for a plate like this in the lounge - half plate colourful vegetables/salads is an easy way strategy to implement in an airline lounge when looking to eat well.
This was quite a nutritious meal I had long-haul on Finnair (flying Hong Kong to Helsinki in 2019). Balanced protein, vibrant minimally cooked vegetables and carbohydrate, minimal sauces, lower in energy 👌 Love your work @feelfinnair as always!
However, I feel some people might find this a little plain/bland looking for a J class main meal - what are your thoughts? 👇 tell me below!
Ah the great radicchio debacle of 2019 🤭 I was travelling from Hong Kong to Melbourne in Business Class on @cathaypacific and ordered the roast chicken as a main.
Now the green beans, chicken and potato were pretty good but I was baffled by the brown radicchio. Now I know u can cook radicchio (I like it sauteed and yes it does go a bit brown). But this was kind of like it was supposed to be served fresh but ended up on the hot food plate so just when brown when heated up (like warm lettuce).
Anyway I just thought it looked quite unappetising and it was one on the first vegetable dishes I actually declined (I know right that bad) while travelling on a plane.
Otherwise I was quite impressed with this dish- half a plate of vegetables, small portion of potato and flavoursome chicken.
