Due to the popularity of our healthy sausage rolls post, I thought I would post a picture of my attempt at Strawberry Santas.
These little guys are great for a Christmas party and relatively healthy as well (well better than processed chip snacks). These are another Christmas treat that kids can have fun helping to make, and yet also will look dashing at an adults festive party. My strawberry Santas- how cute!
Now Nutted Out Nutrition is not claiming this recipe for its own- I found many versions of this recipe on the internet, and they all generally had the same ingredients. The recipe I followed was from Channel 4 recipes. I modified the recipe slightly to make it as healthy as possible, by using extra light cream cheese (instead of original version) and also slightly reducing the amounts of icing sugar and vanilla.
The ingredients are:
- Cream cheese
- Icing sugar
- Vanilla essence
- Poppy seeds
Now just take time to cut the strawberries well and make sure the bases of the strawberries are flat so the santa’s stand up.
Also I probably could have used less filling (reduce kilojoules even more) but these were my test run!
What do you think? I say a simple and pretty healthy festive party treat!
