Due to the travel situation in the middle east in April 2026, I had to change my travel route to get to Europe from Australia. This meant I was flying via London Heathrow and so I had the opportunity to check out British Airways Club Europe food. Last time I flew British Airways Club Europe was in 2022 where I had an okay Ploughman’s plate – was the food experience going to be similar?
Main Meal Service
Overall the food experience was similar to last time I flew with them. The meal from London Heathrow to Hamburg (return) was a salad , bread roll and dessert on both flights.
First flight was an 11.15am flight from London to Hamburg in Germany and was a choice between a salmon salad or a Greek salad. I chose the salmon salad and I must admit I was a little surprised by what I got. It wasn’t really a salad but a pile of salmon with a few strands of lettuce and dressing (I think it was horseradish). Don’t get me wrong, the salmon was delicious but the dish really needed a bit more to it to be really enjoyable. I did not enjoy the roll – it was a bit dry. I didn’t eat the dessert but I did have a small taste – the crumble wasn’t very crunchy.

Second flight was Hamburg to London Heathrow and departed at 11.10am. I chose the roast beef salad which was similar to the salmon salad in terms of it was basically beef with a couple of skinny carrots, tomatoes and a fair bit of sauce. The beef was really tender and tasted nice.

Nutrition comment
Fantastic to see meals based around nutritious wholefoods for such a short flight, rather than some sort of prepackaged food. The main meals were based around high protein foods and vegetables providing a light meal for the time of the flight (mid morning). While the vegetables were good to include the portions were small, rather than a main part of the meal. The desserts tasted quite sweet and at that time of the day I wasn’t looking for that type of dessert.
Final word British Airways Club Europe Food
The British Airways Club Europe food was okay. I wasn’t expecting much due to the flight time length and also the general nature of intra-europe business class but I came away without being too disappointed. If this was served over lunch perhaps I would have been expecting a little more. What really stood out for me though was the emphasis on wholefoods –
NOTE: All pictures of British Airways Club Europe food are my own and I review the food from the menu I was given and the food I ordered on my flight. There may be different options available at other times.
