Special Meal Child Meal Fiji Airways Business Class Food Review – Melbourne to Nadi, Fiji

This year has been a busy year and so my family decided we would do a couple of shorter family holidays instead of longer ones this year. We have had a lovely time travelling to Fiji twice this year which is a 4 hour flight away from Melbourne – perfect for my little 3.5 year old frequent flyer who despite having travelled around the world a number of times since he was born is just at that age where he is asserting his independence more. So a 4 hour flight on Fiji Airways with incredibly family friendly cabin crew was perfect for our family trips this year. This review of the child meal Fiji Airways business class food includes before and after the introduction of the new business class menu (Pacific Rim) as I was flying the A350 in October 2025 which I was told had the new business class offering.

Main meal service

My little frequent flyer was served the same pre-dining snack as adults on both flights (May 2025 and October 2025) . In May 2025 it was a small dish of cheesy biscuits whereas October 2025 it was a tropical mix made of nuts, slices of pineapple and coconut. My little one liked both but I did remove most of the nuts from the new snack as some were round and I just wasn’t sure of the chocking hazard risk on the plane if there was sudden turbulence.

During our flight in May 2025 our little frequent flyer was served his meal all on one tray with a main dish of cheese pasta, chicken and peas. Sides dishes were a bowl of diced fruit, a muesli bar, a dessert and he would have been offered bread but there was turbulence and the bread basket didn’t make it around. I had a mouthful of the pasta dish and it was delicious. He liked it too but the chicken slices were too big and I did have to cut them leaning awkwardly over the seats (please remember he was 3 and so not able to cut them very easily himself). He absolutely loved the fruit bowl, and the muesli bar also was appealing to him.

The child meal in served in October 2025 (on the exact same flight time) was quite different. The same bread basket was served as the adults and a meal of cold chicken and potato salad was served. Now the new business class menu for adults served the three courses separately. So I wondered if this was his first course as I thought a cold salad type dish was a curious choice kids. Now my little one does have a fairly good palate (he isn’t picky) but I the cold dish just didn’t appeal much to him. Also the large slices of chicken put him off a bit too (even after I cut them up for him). There was no fruit or other sides like the previous meal experience. The crew didn’t serve him any hot meal after this. So my little one just ate a bread roll and one of the halves of the cherry tomato. The reason I thought there may have been a second meal was not just because how the adults meals were served but on the return Nadi flight he was served a cold starter (of yogurt, fruit and muesli bar) and then a separate meal of hot meal of pancakes (so it got me thinking). Looks like we will have to fly again to see lol. But he was served something else after they cleared his chicken and potato salad meal… a chocolate mousse dessert and I have to say he gobbled that up!!!!!!!

Nutrition comment

The bowl of chopped fruit served in May 2025 was a nutritious side to include for a child meal. It was good to see in both meals there were some vegetables, encouraging kids to eat vegetables but without overwhelming them on the plane is great. The side bowl of chopped fruit with the meal in May was brilliant for kids and very nutritious. The chicken was a decent portion and helped balance the meal however it would have been better cut up rather than served in slices (easier for kids to eat). The muesli bar did not have any nutrition information on the packet but was described as being made from wholegrain oats.

Final word Special Meal Child Meal Fiji Airways Business Class Food Review – Melbourne to Nadi, Fiji

The child meal Fiji Airways business class food was pretty good and I would consider flying them again with my little frequent flyer. While the meal served when we flew in October 2025 was not the greatest for my little one, older kids may have enjoyed the chicken and potato salad. The food quality was good and the experience was similar to an adults experience on the light. It would be good to take another flight just to see whether there is a hot meal served with the new menu or whether the cold chicken and potato salad is the standard. A bowl of fruit would also have been food to have been served with the new menu too.
